Q&A
Welcome to our series of frequently asked questions. If you need additional information after reviewing these FAQs, simply use the contact form below to send us your inquiries. We'll get back to you ASAP!
WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL MEDICINE?
Nutritional Medicine practitioners look “upstream” to consider the complex web of interactions in a patient’s history, physiology, and lifestyle that can lead to illness. A person's unique genetic makeup is considered, along with both internal (mind, body and spirit) and external (physical and social environment) factors that affect health and well being.
An evidence based treatment plan combined with effective and sustainable strategies to build changes into one's daily life can lead to lasting change and reversal of chronic health issues.
DO YOU BILL INSURANCE?
Sue Bentsen, MS CN RN does not bill insurance. A receipt for services rendered, a "superbill" can be provided for reimbursement. Eligibility for insurance coverage is very individual, it is advised that you inquire with your insurance company regarding coverage for medical nutrition therapy (MNT) with respect to your individual policy.
Payment can be made with debit or credit cards. In some cases a Health Savings Account credit card can be utilized. Payment is due in full within 14 calendar days from date of service.
IS LAB TESTING AVAILABLE?
Yes, lab testing is available and often recommended. If you wish for lab testing to be billed through your insurance it is necessary for it to be ordered by your primary care provider. A lab "wish list" can be provided so that you can make this request with your care provider. Otherwise, we will facilitate a lab order, direct ship any neccessary lab test kit(s) to you and assist you with obtaining a blood draw either at a Labcorp site or with a mobile phlebotomist, when needed.
IS TELE-HEALTH AVAILABLE?
Tele-health is available world-wide, however services rendered are considered "consult only" and thereby subject to greater limitations for insurance reimbursement. It is recommended to check with your insurance provider prior to contracting for service.
